Act 2: Rookies

Aspects of the zine

  • A complete SFW zine

  • Digital copies to purchase + physical merch bundle

  • Contributors will receive free copies of the zine and merchandise

  • Types of merch is yet to be determined

  • Each rookie will be paired with a member from any troupe

  • Activities with the rookies is the focus

  • Writing pieces and illustrations are included

  • This project may take about 4-6 months depending on merch production

  • There is not an age requirement, however we expect a sense of maturity and responsibility while participating in a zine

  • We will have room for backups incase of drop outs

  • We will not allow collabs for this project

  • Discord is required to keep up with any changes or announcements

Additional Information

  • Backups are expected to adjust with the current schedule and complete their pieces on time

  • All deadlines must be met beforehand or on the day of (extensions can be given)

  • Contributors must respect decisions from the mods & host

Writers works

Writers will provide original short stories of scenes with the rookies paired with another troupe member. These pieces will not be written for illustrations by artists. (There will be no collabs for this project)

Artist Illustrations/Merchandise

Artists will be tasked with creating illustrations focused on the rookies paired with any other troupe members. We are accepting traditional artists in this zine, therefore you MUST provide a high quality scan of your final piece. Please find a way to scan your pieces into a digital file. In addition to this, merchandise will also be provided with every purchase of the digital zine.

Charity donations

This zine will be available to download once purchased. All proceeds will cover merchandise and all left overs are donated to Black Lives Matter (worldwide).

Portfolio tips

Artists and Writers will need portfolios (collection of best works)

Artists

  • 3 to 7 illustrations with fully colored backgrounds

  • Illustrations do not have to be A3 related

  • pieces that show your specific style

  • (coloring, proportion, line work)

  • recommended: carrd co, google drive, wix, art station, etc.

  • Merch artists: examples of styles you would provide or merchandise you have already made

Writers

  • short excerpts from recent works

  • 4-7 page examples total

  • Writing samples do not have to be A3 related

  • writing, grammar and literary skills are demonstrated

  • recommended: google drive, Ao3, fanfiction.net, etc.

Estimated schedule (will change as needed)

  • 10/8/20- applications close

  • 10/17/20- emails sent out

  • 11/14/20- check in 1

  • 12/12/20- check in 2

  • 1/9/21- check in final

  • 1/16/21- pre-orders open
